Windows 10: Music Downloads

Call me old fashioned but how can I automatically send music downloads to Windows Media Player

When i was reading up on this phone I was led to believe music downloads via nokia music store would be free for a year on this hand set, so that nokia could establish this and compete with Istore.



when i've gone on it looks like it will charge me.



Was I wrong in thinking it would be free at first?

My opinion is that NOKIA is a f------ lier company.



They lie to get more phones sold.

 

You have to set it in default programs. Personally WinAmp and VLC are a whole lot lighter. Plus they make it easier to serve media across the network.

 

Save the download to your Music folder.
Play it once in Windows Media Player, and it will be one of the playlist in WMP.

 

But when I try to download a song, Groove automatically opens , plays the song, but doesn't save it. How do I save to "my music" so that I can then put into WMP ?

 

You can select WMP as default program to open your music files.
There are at least more than one way to do that.
Here is my favorite way, provided you do have Open With context menu installed......
right click at the music file > click Open With > click Choose another app > select Windows Media Player > bottom left , check the box "Always use this app to open ...." > click OK when done.
From here on, your music file will be opened by WMP instead of Groove.

If you don't have Open With in your context menu, you can open Default Programs via Control Panel > click Associate a file type or protocol with a program > scroll down to .gif , click it > click Change program at top right > select WMP > click OK.
