Windows 10: Music Folder Changed Causing All Shortcuts to Break Due to Address Dependancy.

Hello, I've accidentally changed my music shortcut to my SSD C:/ which means the music folder opens it up. When I change it back to the original folder, all programs and shortcuts fail as it rely on C:\ The Music Shortcut. is there a way to bulk change the file locations for all programs shortcuts. Is there any way to get the original icons to display again after the shortcuts are moved into a folder?

Please be informed, the view of files, folders, shortcuts etc. will be set to small icons by default, due to which you will not be able to see the shortcut's icon.

I suggest you to follow these steps:

• 
  Click on View
  menu in the menu bar.
  
• 
  Select either of these options
  medium, large or extra-large icons and you will be able to see the icon of the shortcut.

Personal folder shortcut not listing all of its contents

Hi.

I want to make a shortcut of my personal folder or add it to quick access but the results is not what I hoped for.

I click on start and on the personal folder shortcut to the left edge of the menu (above power), then click on address to get the address and make a shortcut.

Or, I go into C:\Users and make a shortcut of the Username folder.

Regardless of the method, when I access that folder (by doubleclicking it) it does not list all of the user folders like Music. By going to the two locations mentioned earlier, they show up, but when using the shortcut, it's incomplete. The folders ARE NOT HIDDEN, I have show hidden items and some like Music, Documents and Videos are just not listed. That shortcut also paints a user icon on the folder in the task bar where as accessing the locations directly doe not, the icon is that of a plain folder.

I would like to fix that. Any ideas, registry checks etc that I could perform? As a note: windows reinstall and user reset is not an option.

 

Desktop chrome shortcut icons turned into blank papers!!!

To resolve this issue, you can try the following steps:

2. Rebuild the icon cache: The icon cache is a database that stores the icons for all the files and programs on your computer. If the cache becomes corrupted, it can cause issues with icons. To rebuild the icon cache, follow these steps:
   
   • Open File Explorer and navigate to the following folder: C:\Users[Your Username]\AppData\Local
     
   • Locate the "IconCache.db" file and delete it (you may need to enable the option to show hidden files and folders in File Explorer settings).
     
   • Restart your computer.
     
3. Reset Chrome shortcuts: If the issue persists only with Chrome shortcuts, you can try resetting them by following these steps:
   
   • Right-click on the blank paper icon and select "Properties."
     
   • In the Properties window, click on the "Shortcut" tab.
     
   • Click on the "Change Icon" button.
     
   • In the "Change Icon" window, click on the "Restore Defaults" button.
