I was wanting to use Musixmatch on my Windows 11 PC, but it seems to have been taken off the Microsoft store. I was wondering what happened to it and if it is possible to get it back. If it helps, my Windows 11 version is 22H2.

I tried installing musixmatch on windows 10, but whenever I go to launch it, it says it doesn't have permission no matter what I do. And yes, I tried reinstalling it.

    Unable to uninstall Musixmatch app

Musixmatch doesn't work anymore because after turning back the creator's update (that broke Spotify and outlook) the .exe file has disappeared. Now I can't uninstall it using the start menu or settings menu, and I can't reinstall until the windows store
knows it has been deleted. deleting the files doesn't work. In the windows apps folder, there are 2 folders left of musixmatch one of which contains an .exe. However this has a lock on it and I can't activate it.

    Musixmatch application behaving like malware.

I find this to be a very disturbing event, finding an application on my system that was not requested nor required. It's even worse to see that it may have come from Microsoft itself.

I had just restarted my computer from re-seating my TV tuner card, and while watching the desktop load, Musixmatch suddenly appeared in my system tray. I immediately shut it (the app) down, disabled it from startup, then uninstalled it. The fact that the
app made it on my system without my knowledge is disgusting for several reasons:

    1) This application was not requested by me. I currently don't use any music streaming apps so Musixmatch was not needed or wanted.

    2) No notifications of this app's installation was given. In other words, this was a "stealth" install. Only malware would do stealth installs to keep users clueless to its activity.

    3) While on my system, the app caused hard disk read errors. This might have been my own doing as I may have knocked a cable loose while re-seating the tuner card.

I uninstalled the app before doing a virus scan on it (due to #3), so I can't confirm if it was malware. But given the stealth install, I now have concerns for anything else, including security updates, that Microsoft may be sending my way.
