    Must copy text twice in Edge browser


    If I highlight some text off the internet in Edge and press CTRL+C then go to paste the copied text somewhere else, it doesn't work. But if I highlight the text and hold CTRL then press C twice, then the text copies. This gets very frustrating because all my life I always had to press C once, not twice and its very much instilled in me. What can I do to make the copy/paste function work the way it always has?

    I finally found a solution to this problem and it was pretty easy. I which I wouldn't have spent all the time reading through the many posts here:

    • Highlight the address of the page in the address bar
    • Right click to copy the address (or CTRL+C)
    • Open Chrome or FireFox
    • Copy the address there
    • Continue your work and don't waste more time trying to do it with Edge.
    I'm being serious. If you think this saves you time, then rate this answer to help other people with this problem. If a browser doesn't let you copy and paste from your own emails, then you need to use another browser and Microsoft should know better.

    this started happening on all edge browsers not too long ago. A big pain in the butt... I've just been copying URL into chrome so I can copy text.. and hoping MS gets it fixed soon.. I'm not a google fan, but MS really screwed this one up! It is something
    everyone does routinely.

    I would suggest you to try restarting Microsoft Edge Browser and check if it helps.

    Follow the below steps:


    • Open task manager right click on Microsoft Edge and go to details click on microsoftedgeCP.exe and click end task

    • Restart your Computer and check if it helps.
