Windows 10: Mute/Unmute Mic Button on Keyboard Doesn’t Work

The key to mute/unmute my mic hasn't been working recently. Usually, it would show a semi-transparent pop-up whenever I'd press it like in the picture below, but now it doesn't show a pop-up at all. Pressing it seems to have no effect on whether my mic is on or off I tried pressing it multiple times during a call and my mic stayed on the entire time. I haven't tried any methods to fix this since I couldn't really find any up-to-date information, but I have downloaded the most recent updates, at least.Example picturerocessor 12th Gen IntelR CoreTM i5-12500H 2.50 GHz Installed RAM 8.

Keyboard mute mic button not unmuting

So I have a laptop and have had the same one for a while but just today for some reason the mute mic button next to the sound up button hasn't been working right. if it is working right, the light on the button is on if the mic is muted and off if the mic is on, but when I press the button its not unmuting like its supposed too. I don't know as much as I'd like when it comes to drivers and stuff, so I don't know how to fix it manually, also I've tried restarting the computer, and when I did it didn't reset the mic button and when I turned the laptop back on it like automatically muted the mic, and I need the mic to record a video. so if anyone knows how to fix this I'd like to hear it

 

F4 mic muting button isn't working when I wanted to mute my mic...nothing is showing up whether my mic is on muted/unmuted on screen when I press on it.

Whenever I want to mute my mic, I'll simply press the mic button f4 key on my laptop's keyboard, and it'll show me a display/pop-up icon if my mic is muted/unmuted, but now it doesn't. I've tested on every app like Discord, GoogleMeet, Voice Recorder, etc and it doesn't work...how do I fix it?

 

How to mute the microphone with a keyboard shortcut?

Without using third party software, how can a microphone mute shortcut be setup to mute a microphone on and off.

I do see under record devices>properties for mic> levels> a mute button there that would work. how can I trigger that with a keyboard shortcut if I need to turn mute and unmute quickly on voip calls. The button will work but I need to be able to access
it without going into the properties for the mic each time.
