    My 1TB external HDD has been formatted to a 32GB and I can't change it back.


    I installed the windows media creation tool on it to use the drive to install windows 10 on a new SSD I have coming in the mail because I couldn't find my flash drive. Well, I found my flash drive and when I go back to my 1TB drive to remove the Windows 10 media file, it's now at 32gb and I can't change it back.

    I was unaware that this small windows 10 download would completely reformat the drive. Why? I don't know. Windows 10 isn't even that large. Why couldn't it just use the whopping 1TB of storage? -_____-



    Anyway, I need to change it back to 1TB and I can't figure it out. I right click the drive and click format and the only option under Capacity: is 32.0GB. I can't change it to 1TB. The fyle system is FAT32 (default). If I click Restore Device Defaults it just defaults to 32GB. (which is BS, it's a 1TB EasyStore drive!)

    Please help. lol

    1tb Fat32 external hdd

    Hello all.

    My windows can't open my 1tb fat32 external hdd. It formats it to some other thing. I need it to be fat32 so I could connect it to my ps3. Is there an alternate option to windows file ?

    I can't reformat my 1TB external since I tried cloning my computer with Macrium Reflect 7. When I try to open the external it changed the name to F:Reserve and tells me the file is empty. When I go to properties it tells me there's only 498MB on it.
    I tried formatting it and it says its complete but still only 498mb. How can I reformat my external?

    My Seagate 1TB external won't reformat. I put Macrium Reflect 7 on my computer because I need to change my hard drive. I tried cloning my computer. I plugged the external in and it erased all my data and changed the name to F:Reserve. When I try to open
    it, it says file empty. When I check the properties it says there is only 498MB. I tried to format it and nothing happens. I need to know what to do.
