Windows 10: my account says it expired 12 months ago but i still have full functionality

my account says it expired 12 months ago but i still have full functionality. I want to upgrade but I don't understand why I have full functionality if it is expired

Premium subscription for 12 months is gone after 1 month

I purchased a new 12-month premium subscription for Jigsaw on Sep 9 . Today I got a pop-up saying my subscription had expired and asking if I wanted to renew. I said no and the ads are back.

The first year I had no problems, but this year my 12 months was only good for 1 month! How should I get this resolved?

note: I've searched the web and this seemed a common problem back in 2016, but apparently an update resolved it?
