My Acer computer has been stuck all day on updating at 98%. I have tried restarting several times, using, F8, F11 and F12 as various people suggested for re booting., nothing works...can someone please help me, thank you.

Quite right, XP is still listed in technet. Win 98 unfortunately isn't. Windows 3.1 and 3.2 are listed though.

The issue might occur if the system is not Shut down properly. As you have already tried restarting the system several times, I suggest you to perform a Power Drain by following the steps provided below and check if it helps.

• Turn Off the computer and remove the power cable.
• Long press the Power button for 15-20 seconds.
• Plug in the power cable and switch on the computer.

Hello, can anyone help me, my school laptop had to restart for an update and it's been stuck on 98% for over 25 minutes, what do I do. I need it for class.
