Windows 10: My alt codes aren't working as they should.

If I try to use alt+0246 to show ö, it'll only act as if I typed alt+6 . This goes for every single combination that I'm used to typing. My alt codes are now only ranging between 1-9. I've looked through the internet already, messing with the registry and enabling mouse keys didn't work. They were working previously. I've also tried resetting my PC, using "Keyboard troubleshooting", uninstalling my keyboard altogether and reinstalling it. Nothing seems to work. Thanks to anyone who might help.

It does do that, mlee. All buttons have tooltips with the alt code and a description listed in it.

The masculine ordinal number in Spanish, Italian and Portugese? I'm not even sure what it is for ... lol

 

No Alt codes working

I've found that no alt codes appear to be working using either left or right alt keys. I tried a few things suggested by an answer to a similar question ( Redirecting
) which has made absolutely no difference.

Other than Alt codes the alt buttons both work normally, likewise with the numpad.

To better assist you with your concern, I'd like to know the following:

• Confirm which build is currently installed on your device. To check, follow the steps below:

1. Press Windows key + R, then type in winver.
2. Click OK.

• Were there any recent changes made prior to this issue?
• What is the make and model of your computer?
• Does the issue happens to all applications?
• Please check if the NumLock is turn on. Also, try using another keyboard and check if the Alt codes are working.
