    My AMD IGPU is being used for everything including games, instead of my GPU.


    I can't use my gpu for any game or program I need to use it for due to I can't change it in graphics settings. I have the correct drivers for the hardware and software. However, when I try to force it to use another graphics card which is painful. It lists the IGPU in both balanced and High Power Settings. I also have disabled the IGPU I am able to set it to the GPU then but then my second monitor goes dark. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.Specs: Corsair 5000D case, Deepcool 360mm AIO cooler, 16X4 64GB G.Skill DDR5 ram, Asus 670-E gaming WIFI motherboard, AMD 7900 X CPU, EV

    Games and applications are using iGPU instead of Dedicated GPU

    Helloo, I have been facing this issue from 2 weeks now, I usually run games and editing software with Dedicated GPU (Nvidia)

    Brand-> Laptop - HP

    Model-> cx0140tx

    But now even if I force an application to use this gpu it works on Integrated GPU (Intel® UHD Graphics 630). I dont know if GPU is giving output on low power, but PhysX Indicator never shows on apps if its turned on, tried reinstalling graphics driver, updating
    iGPU Driver, forcing apps to use it, nothing worked. Please help

    That is normal, nothing is wrong. The whole point of having a iGPU or GPU is that it is used when required.

    Obviously the more complex the Window that is resized will mean a greater spike.

    Most games are designed for Nvidia or AMD graphics chipsets rather than iGPUs. The minimum requirements are usually listed for those, however in almost all cases an iGPU can be used with no problem other than a reduced performance.

    It does not matter about the version of your driver.

    having issues with multi GPU

    I’m trying to offload certain apps to my iGPU on the second screen, using the new graphics settings in the recent win 10 release. the issue is it’s only showing my 1070. lists it as both power saving GPU, and
    high performance GPU.

    I’ve been fiddling for a while now with no joy, and i’m really hoping one of you guys has an idea they can suggest to sort this!

    I can extend onto the second screen no probs with it plugged into the iGPU, but the 1070 is still listed as both power saving GPU and high performance GPU.

    Are there requirements for this? certain level of iGPU for it to work?

    Edit - setting the secondary screen connected to the iGPU to be the "main" display in graphics settings makes my iGPU show as both power saving and high performance GPU, I just can't seem to get them
    to be one and not the other.
