    My Asus Laptop Disk Drives D and E are disappeared after installing Windows Update 24H2


    Hi, I have installed the microsoft update 24H2 after which my disk drives are disappearing. Previous there was no issue as I open files in both drives frequently.My Asus laptop has 256GB SSD which is C drive, and 1TB HDD in which Driver D and E are. I have done all possible troubleshooting like - - under disk management, there is no disk showing even after rescanning multiple times.- under device manager, under disk devices, I found only SSD one. When I made changes to also view hidden devices, then I HDD device is shown but it is greyed out. I updated the drives too!- In BIOS, I would see so

    Installing windows off of a USB stick

    Step By Step from vista:
    From admin cmd prompt

    1. diskpart
    1a. list disk
    2. select disk 1 (replace 1 with your usb drive)
    3. clean
    4. create partition primary
    5. select partition 1 (replace 1 with your usb drive)
    6. active
    7. format fs=fat32
    8. assign
    9. exit

    Copy Windows Vista's DVD ROM content to the Flash Drive

    xcopy d:\*.* /s/e/f e:\ (d being your vista cd and e being your usb stick)

    And that's it, boot off your usb disk

    D and E drive keeps disappearing? any fixes?

    so this started about last night just finished dinner went back to my pc and noticed that a few windows and apps had closed, went into file explorer and noticed that D and E drive are missing, restarted my pc the drives returned but then they disappeared
    randomly. tried disk managment but that didnt seem to help like it only showed disk 0 which includes C drive and nothing else when the D and E drive disappeared. does anyone have any solutions for this?
