Windows 10: My Asus laptop does not charge when i plugged it in.

I don't know whether it's my hardware or the Windows OS but I highly doubt it is the Windows OS. Can someone help?

[URGENT] ASUS Laptop plugged in but not charging

Hi,
As the title says, My ASUS G551JW laptop is not getting charged when I plug-in to the battery. I tried system restore which didn't work as I got an error (0x80070091). I have no idea what is wrong with my laptop and I hope it is just a simple fix.

My Computer is Plugged in but not Charging

My laptop computer is plugged in but not charging. The power supply will maintain the charge level (%), but not add to it. Removing and reinserting the battery allows the power supply to add to the % charge to 100%.

Steps performed:

• Turning the computer off and restarting it returns the computer to the Plugged in, Not Charging state.
  
• Removing the battery again allows one complete charge, after which the laptop would no longer charge again.
  
• I have used more than one power supply with the same condition.
  

To resolve the issue, I remove the battery, obtain a complete charge, and maintain this charge by always keeping the power supply plugged in.

What is the root of the problem?

 

Asus X540LJ (Plugged in Not Charging)

I have an Asus X540LJ with windows 10.

My battery shows a status of 96% (plugged in, but not charging). Because of the Asus model I am unable to remove the battery pack and reconnect it.

Previous threads have suggested to unplug your computer to allow the battery to drain, in which case it will then catch a charge. But if I unplug the laptop it immediately shuts off as it seems to have 0 charge.

I want to re-install the driver but the only driver I can see that is clearly related to power or battery is a USB charger plus driver.

Can anyone assist with identifying the battery driver or alternative troubleshooting.
