Windows 10: My audio is choppy. It stops and starts. It seems to like and work on some sources and...

On YouTube the audio does well on car crash channels. I think because there is little talking. If a dashcam has the sound on, it works continuously. No starts and stops. I can hear what the dashcam hears. Some of my favorite channels are "Off Road Recovery" channels. They usually work well with a few stops and starts. Most times I get sound through the whole video. I view 5 or 6 of those types of channels and they usually they work well. Channels that have "Talking Heads" are the worst. I constantly have to press the "Space Bar" to reset the sound or press the "Left or Right Arrow" keys to bac

My audio is very choppy?

That bad is audio with both my PC headset and TV. In Device Manager > Sound, Video and game controllers, and Sound > Playback tab, I've got listed:

• Mpow HC (headset)
• NVIDIA High Definition Audio (TV)
• Realtek Audio

In Device Manager, the context menu of each is the same. In Sound, the default device is NVIDIA High Definition Audio. When trying to troubleshoot, via settings, I get:





I don't know which to choose. Troubleshooting via the Taskbar speaker icon hadn't helped.

 

Choppy video, all sources, 2 different PCs (long post)


The video problem persists. My ISP sent a new modem, but it made no difference on streaming video, so the problem must be somewhere in the computer. I just can't figure where. This is driving me crazy, because I can't watch any video on either computer because the choppy playback is too distracting.

I thought for a moment that the problem may be with the SATA driver or controller, as my Device Manager shows only the following, and if I'm not mistaken I'm supposed to see channels listed as well.





But I just checked a video I recorded on my standalone recorder on a USB 3.0 flash drive, and it's choppy, too.

Doesn't anyone have any suggestions?

 

Headphones Cause Video and Audio Playback to Stop

I performed all of the steps suggested, but still no audio when any change is made in the audio source related to the output jack -

if it's changed at all from system speaker to external speaker or to headphones, audio will stop unless the computer is restarted.
