    So i have a 144 hz monitor and a 60 hz monitor recently i had a few problems where the screen will go black and then back on and back to normal when ever i wake up my monitors. And like 1/10 times the background will get removed and the option reverts back to solid color. If you have any options for me to fix this ill gladly take it. By the way im on windows 10. and i know its not the cords its something wrong with monitors.

    Background Slideshow Turns Black

    Additional information:

    The monitor is on a KVM switch with four machines attached. If I am on the problem machine -- with the slideshow running -- and I switch to another machine and then back the background is black.

    However, the slideshow is still running. If I wait a minute one of the images will replace the black background

    It appears the machine is failing to repaint the current background image when the monitor is switched to it.

    Desktop background and taskbar going black could be due to software conflicts.

    We would like to know some information to better assist you with your concern:

    • What troubleshooting steps have you done so far?
    • Did you get any error messages or error codes?

    In the meantime, we suggest that you try to check if the "Show Windows Background" option is turned on. Follow the steps below:

    • Open Settings in the Start menu.
    • Go to Ease of Access, then on the left side, click
      Other options.
    • Turn on Show Windows Background and check if it works.

    Background Slideshow Turns Black

    Hi,

    It is possible that Show Windows Background was turned off. Go to
    Settings > Ease of Access > Other options. Under Visual options, make sure that
    Show Windows background is turned On.

    If the issue persists, you can try the workaround posted on janann
    on August 10, 2015. For details please click the link below:

    Desktop background stays black (Windows 10).
