Windows 10: My battery capacity has decreased significantly in past 10 days, what should I do to...

I am currently using windows 10 and in the past 10 days I had noticed that my battery performance was decreasing rapidly. So, I downloaded battery report and it showed that my full charge battery capacity has come down to 12,540 mWh while the design capacity is ~ 47,000 mWh and upto approximately 10 days ago it was 32,000 mWh.Also, when the laptop goes to sleep and when I restart it, sometimes it turns and shows >40% battery and in a minute it shuts down on it's own and when plugged into the charger, it shows that battery is down to 0%.What can be the reasons and potential solutions for the

Laptop battery capacity decreased 75% within 5 days without any usage?

My windows 10 laptop battery capacity was 40,263mWh on 25Dec2022 then it suddenly decreased to 19,437mWh. Now on 1st Jan 2023 it decreased to 10,742mWh. 40,263mWh to 10,742mwh. Where is fault?

 

Battery full charge capacity decreased?





As you can probably see from the above image, my battery's full charge capacity has been decreased. Even though I just bought this laptop like 3 months ago, the laptops full charge capacity has been decreased by a huge amount like 5000mWh. I don't know what is causing this I have three questions...

i) What causes a battery to lose its Full Charge Capacity?

ii) Can a full charge capacity be increased (reversed) by using it the right way again?

iii) How can I save my battery from losing it's full charge capacity? Will using it plugged into the charger help it not get decreased?

Repeat the steps Dave suggest you other three times.

Also you can uninstall and reinstall battery from device manager before each charge. You can do that:

1. Press WINDOWS + X

2. Click on "Device Manager"

3. Click on "Battery"

4. Right click on your battery

5. Click on "Uninstall device"

6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 for each element on battery list

7. Click on "Detects Hardware change" (monitor icon)
