Windows 10: My Battery is fine but it is not displaying the percentage correctly.

So I don't usually unplug my laptop but in these past days while I have been travelling I faced a big problem. My battery was replaced a some time ago and is still working ok but the software does not show the correct battery percentage like when i unplug my pc after like 7-8 minutes my pc locks itself and when i open it it is on 1 percent and tells me that it will shut down after 1 min but it runs a long time before ultimately shutting it down. The problem is that when I have to work on battery i have to work on this so-called 1% because when it shuts down all my work is lost unlike when it l

Battery displays incorrect percentage

For the past week and a half or so my battery percentage hasn't been displaying correctly. The first time I've experienced this I'd just shut down my pc, remove the battery, hold the power button for about 15-20 sec, pop the battery back in, turn on the
pc and everything would be back to normal. Now It either displays 100% or when the battery actually drains, it displays 7%, but NOTHING in between. I've tried uninstalling the battery driver, power cycling and letting the pc install the driver itself to
no solution. The battery still seems like its in good shape being a 12cell and all. I've upgraded to Win 10 about a year ago. The laptop is about 3-4 yrs old. Presario CQ56-219WM.

Battery Percentage

I have two HP laptops. Both running Win 10 22H2 with latest updates. One shows "percentage charge" and the other "minuites to full charge" when hovering over the taskbar battery icon with laptops plugged in. Seems like they should show the same. I checked out the suggestions, but no luck.

It makes no sense to not have a battery percentage indicator on mouseover. Clicking on the icon to see the percentage leftover is an extra step I'd rather not take.
