Windows 10: My Battery is stuck at 50%

    My Battery is stuck at 50%


    My laptop was fine before but i don't know what happened, recently my battery would only charge to 50% and stay there i would charge it overnight and its would still be 50%, on top of that it also dies really fast even with battery saver. Whenever i try to open my battery setting to check the problem it gets stuck on the loading screen. What can i do to solve this?

    Battery stops charging at 50%

    Apparently there is a setting (on Vaios only?) to limit the battery charging to 50% or 80% to increase useful battery life. I changed it to 80%, now my battery charges to 80%. It is also possible to remove this limit altogether so that the battery charges
    to 100%.

    Battery stops charging at 50%

    I have a Sony Vaio laptop, Windows 10, the battery charges to 50% then stops charging. It displays 'plugged in, not charging'. Any suggestions how to deal with this problem?

    • Have you made any changes to your computer before experiencing this issue?
    • What troubleshooting steps have you done so far?

    In the meantime, we suggest that you run the Power troubleshooter and update drivers in Windows 10 by following the troubleshooting steps provided by Eeshwar Kumar on this
