Windows 10: My bitlocker recovery key is not backing up to my Microsoft Online account

I need to clarify that I am not having issues with the BitLocker encryption. My matter deals solely with the online backup of my recovery key. I am able to access my computer's hard drive with the BitLocker pin just fine, and I am able to then log into my user profile on my computer. I am able to see my BitLocker recovery key on my computer as well, so I have zero problems with BitLocker encryption. I have attempted to backup my recovery key online multiple times. It looks like it is going through the process, as there are no errors reported. However, I do not see my recovery key has updated when I log into my Microsoft online account. I need to know where my key is being saved online, and I need to find out how I can change that location if it is being uploaded to an account that I would prefer it not to be uploaded to.

I did follow your suggestion but I can't get recovery key.

I got the below message.

You don't have any BitLocker recovery keys in your Microsoft account.

Cannot Save Bitlocker Recovery Key to Microsoft Account

I have a brand new Surface Pro with Windows 10. I am attempting to enable BitLocker.

From the Control Panel / Manage Bitlocker, I click "Turn on BitLocker".

I am given a question, "How do you want to backup your recovery key?" and I choose, "Save to your Microsoft account."

I am greeted with a popup, "Bitlocker Drive Encryption error. Can't sign in to your Microsoft account. You need to be signed in to Windows with a Microsoft account to save your recovery key. Sign out and hen sign in with a Microsoft account, or go to
Settings and choose Accounts to change your existing account."

I am signed in, but I went through these steps again, but I am unable to save my recovery key to my Microsoft account.

How do I fix this?

Just to confirm, are you being asked for a Bitlocker recovery key from the lock screen after booting PC? If not, where are you exactly being asked for a Bitlocker recovery key?

Also, are you the only person that has an account on your device? Have you already done any troubleshooting steps to try to resolve the issue? If yes, what are these troubleshooting steps?
