Windows 10: My brightness control is missing after updating windows 10 to a new version

Hello fellow windows community member, I need help with my Asus A442U laptop. Recently I have updated my windows to a newer version because the windows system is spamming multiple messages that I need to update my OS since my version is no longer supported ?. Thus, when I have finished the update my brightness control panel is missing. I have tried updating the drivers to a new version but the brightness control is still missing. What should I do fix this issue without having to uninstall this newer version of this Windows OS. Thankyou

An interesting option: this free utility - although better known for volume control using the scroll wheel- also has an option for controlling brighness using a key plus scroll wheel which you can configure. (Unless something else is wrong of course)

Brightness Control not working in Windows 10

Hi Ella,

To adjust the brightness, see the steps below:

• Go back to Power Options, and tick on the High performance.
• See if you can adjust the brightness.

If this not work, we highly suggest that you create an Administrator account, and re-do the steps above.
