Windows 10: My brightness isn't changing when using the slider or hotkeys on my Windows 11 AMD laptop.

One day my laptop just stopped letting me change the brightness level. It's been stuck as the same brightness and I can't adjust it with the slider or the hotkeys.I've already tried to update my amd graphics driver, and even rolled it back. I also updated my windows stuff, but still not avail. I've also noticed that my refresh rate keeps resetting to 60hz instead of 144hz and I have to keep manually changing it back.

Just to note, there will not be a brightness slider available if this is for an external monitor.

The brightness slider is only available for built-in displays like on a laptop or tablet.

Brightness doesn't change on windows 11 laptop

My laptop does not change the brightness of the screen. The slider itself is present, but nothing happens by dragging it. The Fn brightness keys have the same effect: visually the slider appears, as if the brightness has changed, but nothing actually happens.



All drivers last version, all system updates installed. I've tried switching on and off via device manager my monitor, embedded and discrete graphics cards, set standard Windows graphics adapter instead of AMD Graphics - nothing works. There is no brightness slider in power settings, no possibility to set my own power scheme, only change default one. When activating power saving mode, the brightness also does not change.



Please help with this problem.

 

Can't change laptop screen brightness, already tried everything out there!

suddenly I couldn't change the screen brightness of my Dell G5 laptop with Windows 11, the menu and configuration slider doesn't work and it's always at 100% brightness.

AMD graphics card

Windows 11 Home version 22H2

I already tried:

• Uninstalling, reinstalling and updating with every version and option the Display adapters in Device Manager.
  
• Reinstalling and updating my dedicated graphics card drivers (AMD Radeon Software)
  
• Check in CMD if any Windows 11 files were missing
  
• Update Windows 11 to the latest version
  

What I couldn't find or I don't have:

• In Settings > System > Troubleshooting > Other > There's no Power option, I guess for the latest Windows version, is there an alternative?
  

After all that, still have the issue, is there another alternative? What's going on here?
