Windows 10: My Brothers Printer Scanner won't save to Scan folder on my computer after last update. Why?

All of a sudden when I scanned a photo and went to save it, it would not save in the folder located in Pictures. I looked up what could be the matter and I got answers that it's not my printer but the new Windows 10 update. Why does Microsoft create updates that interfere with the normal function of a person's computer that does not allow a person, in this case me, to use my computer the way I do and how can I correct it? Right now my scanner is useless and I am wasting lots of my time, which I feel is precious seeking an answer to a problem that I never had before. This "update" literally has sabotaged my computer. I don't like that!

What is the make and model of the brother printer/scanner?

Please try the steps recommended below to uninstall printer software

Press Windows key + X, click Apps & Features or Programs and Features

Select your Brother printer.

Select Uninstall.

Press Windows key + R, type control, hit Enter

Open Devices and Printers.

In the Devices and Printers window look for your Brother Printer. If you see it listed, right-click on it and choose "Delete" or "Remove Device.”

Open up the run command with the "Windows Key + R" key combo.

Type printui.exe /s and click OK.

Click on Drivers tab.

Look for Brother Printer driver. If you see it click on it and click Remove at the bottom.

Select OK.

Select Apply and OK on the Print Server Properties windows.

Close Devices and Printers.

Proceed to reinstall the driver.

I had to reinstall my brother printer and scanner my icon is no longer on desktop. I need it to use the scanner. Any suggestions

• What program are you using to scan files?
