Windows 10: My Browsers and apps are freezing videos are not loading.

I've been fighting this for 5 days now

Any web browser I use is freezing page unresponsive if I try to play videos for up to a minute before the screen refreshes and they work momentarily.


In the Task Manager Performance section

My CPU is not maxing outi7 Processor

My memory is not going past 50% I have 12GB

My Disk C: was showing 100% but I have done several "fixes for the Crive showing 100% usage. The system says there are no issues with bad code or issues with the hard drive.

My internet connect download speed is 100mbps. Upload is 10mbps

I have:

Adjusted the power options

Run windows update several times

Checked for driver updates maybe I missed one?

Adjusted virtual memory options in advanced settings. I've used about 500GB of my 1Tb hard drive.

Ran a FULL anti virus check.


For the 8 years I've had this machine I've never had this issue but since the morning of 2/9/21 it is barely usable. I need to know what happened. I need how to fix it. My job gives me a laptop but I'd rather gouge out my eyes with a rusty spoon than use that tiny thing. At this point I've purchased a new computer however I'd prefer to salvage this one as a family computer. It's a Dell xps8300

video loading freeze Windows 10

Unable to view videos of television programs. Gives me a 'video loading ...' message, but freezes at that point. Have reviewed related issues on line and tried suggested remedies (updating display adaptor from the prompt, updating Adobe flash, checking
for updated drivers), but nothing has worked. This problem just started a few days ago. No issues before. Suggestions?

Step 1: I suggest you to clear the browsing history cache and check if it helps:

• Open Edge browser click on three dots.
• Click on clear browsing history.

Then try to play the video and check if the issue persists.

Step 2: Run the apps troubleshooter and check if it helps with the issue.

The Modern app troubleshooter can automatically identify and fix some problems with apps and the Store

Watching Videos through the Browser in Windows 10

Welcome to Microsoft Community.



As you have issues watching videos in different browsers, this maybe an issues with the graphics driver not loaded properly.

• What is the Make and Model of the computer?
• What is the exact error displayed on Browser?

Provide us the Event viewer logs by trying these steps:

1. Press Win + X key on the keyboard and choose
Event Viewer.

2. Check theApplication logs and provide us the events that occur when you try to play a Video on the Browser.
