  1. My C: drive got wiped from running a .bat file and now windows is corrupted. HELP

I’m always cleaning my temp files and I watched a video that was how to create a batch file to automatically do it, well anyways. I didn’t pay attention to the fact the video had 160 views and no comments and that the batch file went back directories and deleted all. My laptop was completely wiped. Wallpaper was black and everything was gone. Tried restoring to a restore point, but that only brought back some icons and thats it. Now, when I turn on my laptop and try and use my PIN to sign in it says my account is offline or it couldn’t verify my credentials. So I said screw it, I’ll reset my laptop, and reinstall everything. Nothing that important was on there, just 400 GB of games. But when I tried to do that the reset failed and said it could not be completed. How fucked am I? I know rookie mistake for doing what I did. I dont even care about restoring to how it was before I ran the .bat file, I just want to be able to reset it and reinstall everything manually at least. Thank you! Here’s the link to the video: https://youtu.be/0nkSX8xca1o

  3. Corrupted file RAR

If the archive has been created using WinRAR, why don't you try WinRAR itself? It has a built-in repair feature for repairing corrupted archive (ZIP as well as RAR). Follow the steps given below:
    • Open WinRAR application in your system.
    • Now click on File tab > Open or simply press Ctrl+O.
    • A small window "Find Archive" will pop up. Locate the corrupt RAR archive from your system directory and select it.
    • Now click Open button.
    • Click Tools tab > Repair archive or simply press Alt+R.
    • Again a small window "Repairing File name.rar" will pop up.
    • Now click Browse to select a location to save the repaired archive.
    • Check the box "Treat the corrupt archive as RAR" and click OK.
    • WinRAR will start repairing of corrupt RAR archive. Once it gets completed click Close.
I hope the above steps will help you repair the corrupted RAR archive.

    Thanks.

  4. My C: drive got wiped from running a .bat file and now windows is corrupted. HELP

    Help with a .bat file.

I have this .bat file that I've been messing around with:

My C: drive got wiped from running a .bat file and now windows is corrupted. HELP [IMG]

I got it to open the Windows Update interface:

My C: drive got wiped from running a .bat file and now windows is corrupted. HELP [IMG]

However, I need the .bat file to go a step further and auto click the Check for updates button circled in orange.

Can someone help me to finish editing the .bat file so that when I click the .bat file, the process of manually checking for Windows Updates becomes fully automated?
