Windows 10: My camera and video are not working

My new Lenovo Yoga camera does not work. An alert states, "Your camera is reporting that it is blocked or turned off by a switch or button on your device. Please unblock it or turn the switch on to use it" I tried troubleshooting based on some of the other responses but have not been successful. Can anyone help?

If you have the camera connected to the computer, I would suggest that you disconnect the camera and then try to open the Camera app.



If the camera app opens, follow the steps below:

• Press “Windows key + C” from your keyboard to open “Charms bar”.
• Select “Settings” option.
• Select “Permissions” option.
• Turn on “Allow this app to access your: Webcam and Microphone” option.
• Lose the app by pressing “Alt key + F4” from your keyboard.
• Reopen the Camera app.
• Connect your camera and then check how this app works.

Load this checklist video in Edge: (I'm assuming you did at least a few of these steps, since you stated you tried other suggestions earlier) Go through the list of suggestions here to try to repair YouTube for Chrome...

I understand that you’re unable to import photos and videos after upgrading to Windows 10.

This could be due to incorrect Auto play settings. I suggest you to follow the steps as shown below and check if it helps.

• Plug in the Camera.
• Go to Start and type AutoPlay Settings.
• Choose AutoPlay Settings.
• Under your Camera Device, choose the option "Import Photos and Videos."
• Exit Auto Play Settings and check if the issue persists.
