Windows 10: my camera wont turn on and my permissions are turned on.

im in a meeting for work and i cant get my camera to come on. it worked the last time i habe checked my permissions.

Camera App doesn't work properly after turn camera permission off and on

Hi,

I am using Microsoft LiveCam Cinema (Modle 1393) on my Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro with Windows 10 Pro.

When I used built-in Camera App, I tried to turn off Camera permission, I noticed that the preview will freeze.

When I turned on Camera permission, the camera still didn't work.

Only when I switched the camera to built-in camera, Camera App will work. But when I switch camera back to LiveCam, that camera still didn't work, I can only see black screen.

When I tried the same step to the built-in camera, the built-in camera worked. Switch back didn't have black screen.

My questions are:

Is this because the LiveCam camera is too old? not fit for windows 10? where can I find a list of camera that can support win10?

turn off camera without admin rights

If you dont have permissions in device manager you wont have permissions in registry for those also.

Start / Settings / Privacy / Camera < lots of things to turn off there and it should disable everything listed from accessing camera, but if you run something that needs the camera there is always the chance it may not ask permissions.

I've disabled my camera in bios/setup - some computers dont offer that setting, so a piece of tape over the camera is really popular, even for the head honcho's of some higher tech corporations, like the facebook guy.

 

My hp laptop wont turn on

This is a frequent problem am sure as you have already seen from online searches.

Flea power is usually the culprit here, basically its residual power that remains on the computer even after thecomputer has been shutdown. You can drain the flea power with the steps the other answers have suggested.

• Disconnecting the battery and adapter
• Press the hardpress the power button for 30 seconds
• This should clear the flea power
