Windows 10: My canon MF4770n says the driver won't download

I am trying to download a canon MF4770n to my computer so I can print and when I look at the printers on my computer it's showing the Canon but says the driver won't download, is there something else I need to do to make this happen?

Canon has a support forum. Likely best to check there. If it is a common problem someone there will likely have answers.

I am new to Windows 10 with purchase of new laptop and am not a fan. I have been unable to add my Canon ImageClass MF4770n printer. although it is detected, I get "drivers not available" message. I have downloaded all software, firmware and drivers from
the Canon site and still get the same message. Help.

Do a complete clean re-install of latest drivers from Canon;

Disconnect printer from PC > uninstall all drivers / apps relating to printer > restart PC >

Install most recent driver from Canon - when installing' install in Compatibility mode, with Admin Rights > Shutdown PC > connect & power up printer > Restart PC > check function of printer.

This procedure has worked in most cases with client printers that are a bit aged .
