Windows 10: My CDROM an error message

Error message on HL-DL-ST DVDRAM GP65NB6 USB Device

Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information in the registry is incomplete or damaged. Code 19 for product LG GP65NB60 svc NB70 Slim Portable DVD Writer


It was fine until recent update last Friday Window 10 version.


I have checked Registry Keys and appears okay.

Windows Update Error Message 0x80070543


Ya Ya Ya, there's over a hundred threads like this, ...

Anyway, started getting this error message a few days ago, and done a lot of searching on this error message, apparently it's not, uncommon.

In particular, the (currently) 4 updates that are being affected are:

• Update for Windows 10 Version 1511 (KB3173428) - Error 0x80070543
• Security Update for Windows 10 Version 1511 (KB3172729) - Error 0x80070543
• Security Update for Adobe Flash Player for Windows 10 Version 1511 (KB3174060) - Error 0x80070543
• Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1511 (KB3176493) - Error 0x80070543

The actions I've taken to date are:

1. Uninstalled firewall program (comodo)
2. Uninstalled anti-virus (Avast)
3. Reset the windows update catalog on local machine.

So the above errors are with the above done.

What other steps should I be taking to resolve the issue?

Below is notations for when I actually add to this thread.

1. Attempted to use the troubleshooter, no dice.

^ what they said will both work. i suggest updating directX, and in the future please try and list the exact error message... and i want a muffin.

To understand the issue better I suggest provide the information.

What is the error message you are getting , when trying to access the game ?

I suggest you to try installing the program in compatibility mode and check
if the issue persists.

Follow these steps to install the Application in compatibility mode and check if that helps.

• Find the Application installer file location.
• Right-click on the
  setup.exe file and click on ‘properties’.
• Click on the ‘compatibility’ tab and check the box
  ‘Run this program in compatibility mode for’ and
  select operating system from the drop down menu and proceed with the installation.
• Once this is done, restart the computer
  and check if the issue persists.
