My child just gave her account away to a scammer. Why can scammer remove all alternate...

I have Family Safety setup for my kids Microsoft Accounts. One child fell for a scam and gave access to her account to someone else. Within one minute the scammer removed all other methods of login to her account. Why is it important that all security measures from an account can be removed instantly? Why doesn't Family Safety ask anything from a parent in these cases? Her 5 year old minecraft account and all its purchased third-party additions are now lost.

    :)

May I offer you a suggestion: If you have any emails from the "scammer" gather them and make sure your credit card company knows about them. I was luckily able to recoup my payment. Good Luck.

Thank you for the information and the links. I actually called the toll free number on the back of the debit card and had them cancel it for me until I could call the bank the next morning when they opened, which I did and unfortunately, the transaction
had already gone through, so I'm out that money. The bank told me to email the scammers and tell them I would like a refund for the misrepresented purchase since they posed as Microsoft and indeed weren't. I did call the REAL Microsoft number and a technician
was reporting it to the Better Business Bureau, the authorities and the FBI so they can all look into this number that I was prompted to call and hopefully track these scammers down. Then the REAL Microsoft technician was kind enough to give me a link to run
a scan on my computer to remove any malware and viruses and then protect it. He also gave me the link to these forums. Thank you so much for your information. I will run each of these as well just to double and triple check that I am safe. Watch out for the
pop ups that say you have to call Microsoft to unblock your computer!!! SCAMMERS!!! Microsoft informed me that they NEVER send pop ups.
