    Symbols instead of readable words

    Hi,

    Welcome to Microsoft community.

    This issue might occur if the document is corrupt or the file type is not associated with the right application.

    I suggest you check if you are able to open in Word.


    • Download and save the document on the desktop.

    • Right click on the document, click on ‘Open with > Choose a program’.

    • Select ‘Word’ from the list of applications and click ‘OK’.

    • Check if the document opens up without any issue.

    Let us know the status.
