Windows 10: My color settings seem to change when I connect my second monitor.

I recently noticed that the colors on my primary display have become washed out and just overall less saturated. I thought maybe it was my brain playing tricks on me until my second display's power cable came loose while the pc was in "sleep". I woke the computer and the colors on my primary display looked how they used to and then I noticed the second display wasn't turning on, checked and fixed the power cable connection and watched the displays go black for a second and then my primary display's colors were back to being washed out and desaturated. I don't know how else to recreate this iss

As per your query, I suggest you to try the below steps and check if it helps.

First connect the secondary monitor and then run the color calibration tool. Then with the secondary monitor connected, follow these steps:

a) Press Windows key +X, select Control panel.

b) Change the view by option on the right top to large icons.

c) Click on Color Management.

d) Against device, select the secondary monitor and check, "use my settings for this device".

e) In the bottom, highlight a profile and select "set as default profile".

Save changes and check if the issue persists. Let us know the results for further assistance.

 

The color on my second screen is very dark and I want to lighten this.

• Are you using second monitor as computer or TV?

If you are using computer as second monitor then I suggest you to change the color of the screen through the buttons that are on right side of the monitor.

If you are facing the brightness issue with both the monitors then the issue might be due to display, please do let us know with more information regarding this issue.
