My company is asking if we as developers need Local Admin Rights. I'm sure it is an attempt to be more secure and not allow users install software willy nilly or change computer settings that would shutdown their laptops.But I say that we developers DO need Local Admin Rights in order to install our IDEs or other tools that we may need to do our jobsWe have the typical IDEs that are readily used worldwide; MS Sql Server management studio, Visual Studio, but we may need to run two or more versions concurrently, and we don't know what IDE we need in the future . admin rights keep disappearing!?!!

Hi guys,

I am actually having a problem at work that our IT department hasn't been able to figure out. I am supposed to be a member of the admin group. We are on a domain. The problem is that everytime I reboot the computer I loose my admin rights(no longer in the administrator group) and just become a normal user again. I have tried googling this and didn't get to many results.
I believe IT is just giving me local admin rights, not admin rights for the whole domain.

Any suggestions?

EDIT: It is on Windows XP Pro.

 

Allowing local admin rights

We have a new laptop that is connected to our company-wide domain. Everytime something requires admin rights, it asks for a username and password. How do i enable local admin rights for this user on this single laptop? The laptop is running Windows 10.

• When did the last time that you have access the computer with Admin rights? -->
  Dec 22, 2016
• Who removed the Admin rights on your computer? --> Another person who played around the laptop's settings
• Does the computer connected on a domain or workgroup settings? --> No, this is just a personal laptop with one local account.

User accounts says not an Administrator account. Is there a way I can put it back without reinstalling win 10? I can't make any changes on the laptop.
