Windows 10: My complete Word Documents Folder (saved) disappeared without warning

Brand new to Ten Forums, and man do I need help. My complete Word Documents File disappeared last week, and I have been unable to retrieve them. These are all saved documents, compiled over several years, that cannot be found. Took my laptop to the local computer gurus but no joy. They told me initially, that the files must be somewhere - it's just the signpost to the files that needs to be located. But, after applying a couple of revovery programs they tell me that the files could not be retrieved. Am I dead in the water, or is there any faint glimmer of hope? I should point out that my Documents File showed up on my PC as a sub-folder of Documents - don't know if that makes a difference. Fingers crossed until I hear the doctor's declaration.

Unable to save Word 2010 in Pc documents.

Original Title: Saving word files to documents

Just upgraded to windows 10 and can't save Microsoft word 2010 file to: this PC/documents/SOAG/labels. prompt says "don't have permission to save in this location. contact the administrator to obtain permission. would you like to save in documents instead?"
I am the administrator. this is the documents folder. when I click yes, prompt window disappears and nothing is saved. Can't save to one drive either. some suggestions in the answers section suggest turning off Bluetooth to have word function better, Bluetooth
is not connected. In order to create new folder I had to click on a security permission window. Is there something like that here that I am not finding?

Help!!! I can't use my computer if I can't save anything!!!!

 

Folder Freeze when trying to click on a Word Document. HELP

Hi there,

I came across a very weird bug/issue.

Use Case

Step 1: Create a word document on Desktop and name it TestFreeze

Step 2: Test that you can open the word document and write something like 'Testing freeze folder' ->save it

Step 3: Create a folder on Desktop and name it FreezeMe

Step 4: Copy 'TestFreeze' document in the 'FreezeMe' folder

Step 5: Open the 'FreezeMe' folder and select/click 'TestFreeze' document

Result: Folder Not Responding

Additional Information

I have run some tests and it does not matter:

• if it is a new or old Microsoft word file
• if the document has content in it or not
• if it has a long/short name or special characters
• it does not matter the folder or the name of the folder in which you put the file in

I also tried with an excel file and seems that I do not experience the same issue.

Microsoft version: 16.0.9330.2073

Windows version: 10.0.17134 Build 17134 with all updates up to date

If there is anything else I can provide to help sort this out, please do let me know.

Opened to any suggestions on how to fix this, as it is very frustrating.
