Windows 10: My computer asks me to 'activate my license" every 2 minutes.

The Windows 10 is fairly new to me. I am overwhelmed by the "Actyivate my License" notes that are in front of everything every 2 minutes or so.program

My computer guru spent an hour or so trying to make this computer program understand that it is new, and I paid good money for it.... And had me update on March 12th.

Nothing has worked....

And of course my product key for the Windows 7 is useless....

And now the consultant is under quarantine.

How long can I keep using this machine? I need it, and it is terrifying me with big blue messages that i can do nothing about. ?

Please note that one license key is valid only for one hardware. However you can try the steps mentioned below to check if that helps. Make sure that you have the 25-alpha numeric product key (Retail version). Here are some steps that you can follow:



Step 1: Uninstall the key from your Mac (Bootcamp). To uninstall the license key, follow the steps mentioned bellow:

1. Open command prompt (search CMD on start menu) and run it as administrator.
   
2. Then type: slmgr /upk
3. The following command will uninstall the product key from your Bootcamp partition.
   

Step 2: Install the product key on new Computer.

1. Open Run (Windows Key + R) and then type: SLUI 3
2. You will be prompted to enter the product key.
3. Please type the product key and try to activate it.

Step 3: If step 2 does not work, then you will need to install the product key manually and perform phone activation.

1. Open Command prompt once again and run it administrator.
2. Then type: slmgr /ipk XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX
   
   Note: replace XXXXX with the product key.
3. Once you receive a confirmation prompt that the product key has been installed.
   
4. Close the Command prompt Window.
5. Now open Run (Windows Key + R) and type SLUI 4.
6. Then choose your country and click on Next and follow the on screen instructions.

Win 10 activation is expiring - volume license

Finally got it activated but still confused as to what is really going on with activation.

here is what I did:

-got another Win7 Pro key from a friend (non volume license one)
-I tried to activate it, but it gave the same error message as before, "could not activate with this key"
-following suggestion above, I tried it a second time. This time it activated !!! (internet was connected both times)

don't know why just doing it 2 times makes it work. maybe someone else can explain that.

I checked it with ShowkeyPlus and to my surprise it now said it was activated and showed the installed key as the generic Win10Pro key that is listed in above post. But I did not enter that key. ????

 

Windows 10 update cause Bad Pool Header at login


All BBBBBs indicates a VLK (Volume License Key) which cannot be used for activation. You real key will be on a COA sticker somewhere on the computer.

You won't need it though. As long as Windows 7 is activated, Windows 10 will be happy and will not ask you for a key.
