    My computer clock will not change after synchronizing with an ntp server


    My computer clock will not change after synchronizing with my ntp server. On the date and time tab where I have an option to change force a synchronization, I get a message saying that the synchronization failed. I have tried every suggestion that I can find, but the problem does not resolve.

    Windows clock and NTP

    Is it possible, that there is a difference in seconds, on the various NTP servers?

    When is it normal, that RTC battery starts to "degrade" and lose efficiency?

    If I use my computer daily, is it still possible, that it could lose a couple of seconds daily, until it synchronize again with a NTP server?

    About Microsoft having public NTP server

    I suggest Microsoft to start its own public NTP server, which can be used ny people for syncing computer clocks on networks where NTP ports ate blocked.

    Their current server is protected and uses only selected ports for time syncing in OS.

    However, if it starts using port 80 or 443 then it will be easy for people to sync on restricted or secured networks.

    Kindly let me know if such thing already exists.
