Windows 10: My computer crashed and now headphone and microphone are not working

I was using the computer and then it crashed and I had to restart, when I restarted sound was coming from my monitor instead of headphones and I realized it was not detecting my headphones. I googled how to fix this and I noticed some things: First thing I noticed is that realtek drivers are not showing up on device manager, I tried to re-install Realtek but I think I wasn't successful because even after downloading the codecs, installing and restarting its not showing up.



Second thing was the warning signal on High Definition Audio Controller and it saying "This device cannot start. (Code 10)"



I tried to fix this after looking how to do it online but it didn't work. It was something about services.msc then checking if something was on automatic and uninstall device then scam for hardware changes... didn't work.

I tried to restore to my last backup point 4 days ago but it didn't fix this problem.
I don't know what to do and I need help to fix this issue.

Headphone microphone not working.

Clicked on cog (its same with Mic in and Headphone)


Wrench (also same with headphone and Mic in)


This is all i know btw when i click headphone it says mic is unplugged and when i do Mic in it says speakers are unplugged and mic is on.

Please reply to the following questions to get a better understanding on the issue:

• Are you able to use any other microphone on the computer?
  
• Are you able to use the headphones microphone on any other computer?
  

However, you can follow the troubleshooting steps from the article
Fix microphone problems.

Also, you can follow the steps mentioned below to check if the Microphone is disabled:

1. Go to Settings >> Sound.
   
2. Go to Check Input Devices >> Manage Sound Devices.
   
3. Under Input Devices check if the device is Disabled.
   
4. For Eg: You might see Stereo Mix.
   
5. Click on Stereo Mix and click on
   Enable.
   
6. Now, test the Microphone and check if you are able to record audio.

Windows 10 No microphone will work

Sorry about the long response time. Work sucks sometime.

I tried both a headset microphone and the usb microphone on another Windows 10 computer. It did not pick up any microphone signal and was showing the same emulated sound output as I noted before.

That is what is really bothering me. Both computers detect the microphones, yet output is being directed to them as well as any plugged in speaker/headphone.
