Windows 10: My computer crashed last night, and I just got a notification that says “the windows...

So I have an HP laptop with Windows 10 that is about 3 years old. On Sunday I restarted my laptop so it could install an update. It worked perfectly fine all night and all of Monday Until about midnight. I had been using it for about half an hour and it was working perfectly when it just randomly froze up after I recorded a video for my class. I got an alert that said “windows encountered a problem and will restart in 60 seconds”

So I waited for it to restart and it took about half an hour to come back on, and when it did it was incredibly slow. Like I type my password in and it takes at least 30 seconds for it to register. When I finally do get logged in, it is still extremely slow, and won’t connect to Wifi. No wifi options come up, even tho my houses wifi works perfectly on every other device.

Finally, the trouble shooting works and I got the message in the title. I try to fix it as an administrator, but when I click that, nothing happens, it just closes out.

I read online that updating my network adapter driver might fix the problem, but when I try to do that it doesn’t work. I search the device manager on my computer, but when I try to open it, it freezes for a few minutes, and then closes out.

My laptop hasn’t suffered any physical damage that I’m aware of

Yeah, thats not a solution she is interested in......I've suggested that course of action. Thanks though.

Just to clarify, I feel that there MUST be a step, or series of steps to turn off JUST the wireless notification sound. Thats what Im driving @ here.

I suggest you run rthdribl > http://www.daionet.gr.jp/~masa/archives/rthdribl_1_2.zip
Increase the window size step by step and watch your vga temps permanently.
What happens?
If it crashes, run at stock speeds as suggested before and retry.

P.S.: When your system locks, does the display signal turn off after a time?
Stuttering sound or no sound at all when freezing?
What X1800XT model do you own exactly?

ive watch my temps and both the cpu and gpu are within normal ranges. when it freezes it simply freezes the image and stops the sound. i must reboot to get back to windows.
