Windows 10: My computer detected few unwanted software, file: C:\Windows\Installer\3afbf41.msi being...

My window detector recently detected, that I had an unwanted and possible threat software file in my computer, I tried to remove it through the anti-virus system that detected it but it was not successful, and I had a look at other community issus, which I followed and did a full microsoft scan which took me 3 hour and it found out I had quite a few unwanted software but it doesn't tell me where they all are, and I still see the reminder poping up saying I have an unwanted software that is possibly harmful. Which means the software is not removed and I have no otherways of solving it.sorry it

C windows installer folder - Delete?

He can do symbolic link redirection and move the files in it to a different location. *Wink
Better try it out in a virtual of first. Just a suggestion.

Like:
First move everything in c:\windows\installer to d:\installercache
Then delete c:\windows\installer folder
Then type this in command mode as admin
mklink /d c:\windows\installer d:\installercache

Removing those installer files is a bad idea. it might prevent you from updating or uninstalling apps.

The above error can occur if the locally cached Windows Installer package (*.msi) file is damaged or corrupted.

To rectify the above, I suggest that you try the steps mentioned below and check if you are able to install the software successfully.

• Open the \Windows\Installer folder on your computer's hard disk.
• Right-click any file with an .msi extension.
• Click Properties on the shortcut menu. The
  Subject box on the Summary tab contains the name of the product that installed the .msi file.
• Repeat steps 2 and 3 for each .msi file in the \Installer folder, and delete the .msi file for the software that you are trying to install.

windows xp installation and dual core am

could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx
