  1. My Computer does not support and connect any USB device i have

This is an issue that I have never experienced before, apparently today all of the sudden, when I connected one of my hard drives to my computer that runs Windows 11, it does not open up any files on the hard drive. The drive that I have connected does not show up on disk management as well. Then when I connected my second hard drive to my computer Assuming that the first hard drive died for some reason, that does not show up as well. Then for the final test, I used my flash Drive to check if that works as well, but no it did not work at all. All the devices that I have connected does no

  3. connecting my device to computer

    Hi CollinMoses,

Thanks for posting to the Microsoft Answers forums regarding your laptop connecting to your Windows Phone! To get a clear picture, are you encountering any errors when connecting your phone to your laptop? Sometimes, we see that a computer does not detect
your phone altogether, or that it is detected as a USB device but the Zune software itself does not detect the device. In either case, these steps should help to get everything back on track. At the time of my post this information is up to date, but you can
also look at the same steps available on our support site at
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2410180
    .

Starting off, please ensure that you are connecting your phone directly to your laptop (avoiding any docking stations, USB hubs, and trying all available ports), using the same cable used on your desktop.

First, I'd like to verify the USB connection between your computer and device by checking to see if the Windows Device Manager lists the phone:

    • Click Start, right-click Computer, and then clickProperties.
    • Click Device Manager, located in the left column.
    • A window swill appear with the name of your computer and a list of files. If you don't see the files, click the name of your computer. The name of your Windows Phone 7 should be listed under the Portable Devices.
If your laptop's Device Manager does not detect that your phone is connected, it is likely due to the physical connection issue between the USB port on the phone and the USB port on the computer. It is possible that:

    • There is dust or debris in the USB port.
    • The USB port on the computer is bad (try connecting to another port).
Next, reinstall the Zune software on your laptop using the steps at this page:Xbox Support

If the issue persists, we'll take a look at the phone's drivers on your PC to make sure everything is up to date. You may be able to resolve this problem automatically using the utility at this linkBlick auf die Große Saarschleife.
Click the link, then click Run in the File Download dialog box and follow the steps in the wizard.

If Windows Device Manager indicates a device problem or if the driver version of Windows Phone 7 that's installed isn't the current version (4.8.2345.0), update the driver manually. To do this, follow these steps:

    • Click Start, right-click Computer, and then clickProperties.
    • Click Device Manager, located in the left column.
    • A windows will appear with the name of your computer and a list of files. If you don't see the files, click thename of your computer. The name of your Windows Phone 7 should be listed underPortable Devices. If Windows Phone
7 was incorrectly installed, it may be listed with a yellow exclamation mark. Or, it may be listed underOther Devices as a USB device or an
      unknown device.
    • On the Driver tab, click Uninstall.
    • Select Delete the driver software for this device and then clickOK.
    • Return to the Device Manager window, click the Action menu, and then clickScan for hardware changes.
    • Open Portable Devices, double-click the name of your Windows Phone 7, and then click theDriver tab.
Or, if you don't see your phone name, clickunknown device listed under
Other Devices, and then click theDriver tab.
    • Click Update Driver.
    • Click Browse my computer for driver software.
    • Click Browse, locate the Program Files/Zune/Drivers folder on your computer, and then clickOK.
    • Click Next and if you're prompted, click Install. You may only be given aClose option.
    • After the Driver Installation is complete, Close the open windows until you exit the Device Manager. If you're prompted to restart your computer, do so when you can.
I hope these steps help, please let us know if you have any further questions!

    Regards,

    Greg

My Computer does not support and connect any USB device i have

    unknown device USB

    Hi Ali,

In most cases, this issue can be caused by either an unstable/ corrupt USB controller or your computer's drivers need to be updated.

For us to isolate the possibilities, we suggest that you perform the following troubleshooting steps in succeeding order:

    • Connect your USB drive to a different port. Alternatively, try to connect it to a different PC.
    • Connect a different USB drive to your PC.
    • Unplug your USB drive and restart your system. Afterwards, plug it in and see if it works. If the same issue occurs, perform a complete shutdown and wait for a few minutes before turning it on again.
    • Update your drivers.

If you find that the USB drive still doesn't work even after performing all these suggestions, this is most likely pointing to a hardware issue. Thus, it would be best to get in touch with your device manufacturer for a thorough check of the device.

If you have any other questions or concerns, feel free to post back and let us know.
