    My computer erased my files and some apps


    HiI have a windows 10 32 bit and I need some help. This morning I tried to log into my laptop but when I logged in it said a error message saying “log out to not lose any files” I logged out and logged back in but when it got to the desktop all my files were gone. My google chrome reset and some apps were gone. My task bar I think returned to default. Can you please help me?

    Finally! An alternative to eraser...

    it looks much cleaner then the eraser so that is a big step up.

    Windows program to secure erase files only

    I tried doing a search and only found optimal ways to fully erase a disc. Since there are a ton of programs I thought it best to just ask for a current recommendation. I would like to erase a few folders only on a W7 machine and do not need a full time paid program.

    Thank you for any suggestions.

    "Erase this disk" option greyed out

    I use DVD+RW's on a daily basis -- writing, erasing, and rewriting. However, recently, the "erase this disk" option in File Explorer is greyed out.

    The first time it happened, having failed to find a solution online, I restored my C: partion, which fixed the problem, but is a bit heavy handed.

    It's happened again today. I can erase the disk using CDBurnerXP, but that's an extra step which I would like to avoid. It affects all disks, so it's not caused by a faulty disk.

    I would appreciate any suggestions for how "erase this disk" could be brought back to life.
