    My computer freezes randomly after I shut it down frequently in the past. How do I fix it?


    2 years ago, I had an OCD breakdown and had to repeat a lot of stuff. I ended up turning on and off my computer and factory resetting it many many times. I think this is the cause of the problem, but I do not know. Sometimes when I am playing, my screen will freeze and I will have to restart my computer. Sometimes it will happen, sometimes it won't, but sometimes it will happen a lot in one day. Does anybody know anything about this or how to solve it?I'm reposting this because the original person that was helping me isn't responding anymore, they told me to try sfc/scannow and update my drive

    I had already tried turning off fast startup, to no avail.
    Will look at the list you provided, thanks. Hard to do when computer freezes on the Windows loading screen though. *Biggrin
    I had tried that as well... no result.

    Windows 10 freezes randomly

    • Which is the last Windows update build you've applied to the computer?
    • Are there any third party applications that are currently installed?
    Furthermore, we suggest that you do a BIOS update to your computer. Here are the steps:

    • Check the motherboard manufacturer's website to find the specific model of your motherboard.
    • Go to the computer manufacturer's website.
    • Look for the computer model that you're using.
    • You should find any available BIOS update.
