Windows 10: My Computer gets stuck in preparing automatic repair, and if i press the F8 key repeatedly...

my asus laptop won’t boot up, i have to get into WINRE press power 2 times when the logo appears and on the third startup wait and 5% it works but the other 95% goes into preparing automatic repair but about 15 minutes later, it restarts and goes on the loading wheel forever i thinki have tried going into windows boot options on asus and nothing happens, i did mash the F8 key and nothing happened the F12 key and still nothing.it can occasionally do the loading wheel at the start too, this time nothing happens!

I suggest you to restart the computer once using the power button and check if you are able to boot into desktop.

If the issue still persist, let’s check if you are able to boot into Safe Mode environment to troubleshoot the issue further.

  Restart your computer and start pressing the F8 key on your keyboard. On a computer that is configured for booting to multiple operating systems, you can press the F8 key when the Boot Menu appears.

  Select an option to “Safe mode with networking” using the arrow keys on the keyboard when the Windows Advanced Options menu appears, and then press ENTER.
  

I have the same problem, but in my case I'm able to boot into safe mode. Seeing your suggestion is not a solution, what do I do from there?

 

Stuck in auto repair loop

If the screen is stuck for a long time on auto repair, I suggest you to restart the computer using power button and check. If the issue still persist, I suggest you to check if you are able to boot the computer into Safe Mode environment and check.

My HP laptop is stuck on Preparing Automatic Repair has been for many hours

I'd like to verify if you're computer is still stuck on Preparing Automatic Repair state. If not, I'd suggest to perform the steps below:

1. Force shutdown your laptop, check first if your computer will boot normally. If not, after your computer restarts several times. you'll see the Windows 10 Boot Options menu.

2. Select Troubleshoot > Advanced options.

3. Choose Command Prompt, copy and paste the commands below and press Enter the after each line:

• bootrec.exe /rebuildbcd
• bootrec.exe /fixmbr
• bootrec.exe /fixboot
