Windows 10: My computer has an "about to restart" message up but my mouse is loading and I can't do...

On windows 10. The mouse is stuck on the loading ring so I can't do anything. There is an "almost time to restart" (aka time to update) message up. Problem is that my dad does not like updating the laptop because he doesn't want to risk his files (don't ask why he hasn't backed them up yet). If I turn off the computer and turn it on again, will the update activate? Keep in mind I want to get out of this without updating.

Is my SSD dead?

It happened about a month ago so I'm can't remember the exact details of how it died. I think I restarted the PC and the message was there I had no OS. Today I popped in my mirrored HD and was up running. I hocked up the SSD and restarted the PC but no sign of the SSD. Power is on (Zalman “hot swap” case has a power LED for each disk). I tried to find it in DOS but the drive is no where to be found. Any suggestions for a next step? It 1½ month past RMA but the important thing is to retrieve some of the files.

I reset my desktop but now I can't even get past the start screen to re setup my computer because my mouse and keyboard shut off

NFS MW Restarting My Computer

I just loades Need for Speed Most Wanted, and each time i try to run the game it automatically restarts my computer. When i get back into windows i get a message stating that my system had just recovered from a serious error. This is the second time i have installed this game, and this game has been installed on my other friends computers and its worked fine on theres.
