My computer has frozen three times since these updates installed on 1-11-2024. I have to do a complete shutdown with the power button to restore.

Unable to install 2024-01 Cumulative Updates for Windows 11

I've tried the Windows Troubleshooter, and I disabled Malwarebytes (I primarily use Windows Defender, so I didn't need it running as well), and I've tried restarting a couple times.

But the following two updates refuse to install, and I keep receiving error code 0x80070020 for:

• 2024-01 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 Version 22H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5034123)
  
• 2024-01 Cumulative Update for .NET Framework 3.5 and 4.8.1 for Windows 11, version 22H2 for x64 (KB5033920)
  

What do I need to do, to get these updates to install?

I'm running Windows 11 Home (version 22H2).

Not sure if it's extraneous info but my processor is a 12th Gen Intel i7, with 32GB of RAM.

How to fix a microsoft update and allow it to install?

My system is currently stuck using 100% of my first HHD disk speed trying to install the: 2024-01 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 22H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5034122) update. The update always stops at 20% installed before failing to install. My system states that it has failed to install this update 4 other times since 1/11/2024.

List of failed installations:

Failed to install on ‎1/‎15/‎2024 - 0x80073701

Failed to install on ‎1/‎13/‎2024 - 0x80073701

Failed to install on ‎1/‎12/‎2024 - 0x80073701

Failed to install on ‎1/‎11/‎2024 - 0x80073701

Is there a way to manually download the update to install it more reliably? Or can the install be delayed so my system is not slowed down by constantly running its first HHD at 100%?

EDIT: To clarify my system has 2 HHD and only the first one is at 100% activity.
