However, your question seems to suggest you have not understood my configuration.

There is only ever one OS running and which one is running is determined by me manually setting the boot drive in BIOS.

To re-iterate: Disk 0 has Windows 7 SP1 and Disk 1: has Windows 10 Pro installed.

To answer your question:

There is only ever 1 entry in the boot tab of system configuration following is shown in boot for each of the two drives when that OS is running:

When disk 0 is the boot drive msconfig boot tab shows: Windows 7 SP1 (C:\Windows) : Current OS; Default OS

When disk 1 is the boot drive msconfig boot tab shows: Windows 10 (C:\Windows) : Current OS; Default OS

 

Windows 8 Consumer preview up for grabs

In msconfig, boot, there is only "Windows 8 consumer preview (C:\Windows) : Current OS ; Default OS"

Any ideas how i can get back to my win 7 install, without manually removing the drive with windows 8 install?

 

Windows 10 displays wrong boot system in msconfig! Problem?

After running Windows 10 update, I run msconfig the boot section reports only "Windows 7(C:\Windows):Current OS;Default OS". Other computers I have display Windows 10(C:\Windows):Current OS;Default OS. Update was completed without any errors. Computer
seems to run Okay. Can this be fixed and will this cause problems in future?
