Windows 10: My computer (HP ) and DVD player

I purchased a new laptop ( HP ) with Windows 10 It came with no DVD or CD player so I purchased a external DVD player but I cannot get the DVD to install the DVDs that I had on Windows 7 . Is there something else I must purchase ? I have followed all the instructions I can find .

Burned DVD's Work in SOME players

In that case, it is possible the problem is with the blu ray player not supporting DVD+R disks.

Suggest you check to make sure: it's possible you can overcome this problem by simply burning DVD-R instead of DVD+R. Check your blu ray compatibility list first.
