Windows 10: My computer is locked by bitlocker, I don't have the password

I have a problem with Bitlocker, my windows 10 after an update and a restart has crashed and now it asks me for the Bitlocker key, I have never configured this on my computer and I do not know the password. It also does not have an associated microsoft account. I have tried to run this command in CMD manage-bde -protectors C: -get It should show the password, but it only shows me a numerical password and TPM ID and PCR validation profile that I don't know what it means: Can I do something with this information? I've seen these commands too, but I'm not sure they can help me or make the pr

Please follow these steps and check if that helps.

Method 1: I suggest you to start the BitLocker Device Encryption service.

Follow the below steps:

1. Press Windows key + R from the Keyboard.

2. Type services.msc and hit Enter.

3. Search for BitLocker Device Encryption service.

4. Double click on BitLocker Device Encryption service and click on Start button.

5. Click on the dropdown list and set the Startup type to Automatic.

If the issue persists then change the password and change the settings on how drive is unlocked at startup.

Bitlocker on a non-TPM computer how secure is the password?

I went thru the steps to enable bitlocker without a TPM module. I set it up to enter a password before bootup.
Every thing appears to be working okay, but my question is just how secure is the password?! Is it stored on the hard
drive unencrypted? How difficult would it be for a bad guy that has stolen my computer to hack it?

Really glad to hear that. Even without 'Rule 6' I don't think there's any hack we could point to that could have got round Bitlocker....
