    My action center and start menu are not opening even if right-click and select the open option. Whenever I try to open my settings it gives me a dialogue box saying 'class not registered'. I can't even see the battery icon of my laptop. It has been happening for the last 1 day and I don't know the reason behind this. I can't even restart my computer as many of my shortcut keys are not working.

    Battery Notifiction Icon

    Hi Jessica,

    Missing battery icon may be caused by an incorrect configuration of the settings. You may follow the steps below to troubleshoot the issue:

    Method 1:

    • Open Task Manager > Click More details.
    • On the Processes tab, find and select Windows Explorer.
    • Click Restart on the lower right.
    • After the Windows Explorer process has been restarted, check the notification area on the taskbar and see if the battery icon is visible.

    Method 2:

    • Type Turn system icons on or off in the search box then hit
      Enter      .
    • Toggle Power to On and check if the battery icon appear.

    Let us know if the steps above worked.

    My computer is not showing the desktop icons or the start menu bar... everytime I want to open something i have to use the windows task manager. anyone know why this happens? also when i want to open My Computer properties or something it says I'm missing the RUNDLL32.EXE
