Windows 10: my computer is stuck booting due to the latest update

    my computer is stuck booting due to the latest update


    as the title mentioned i believe this to be an update that caused this but im not sure. My computer is getting to the windows boot process and then just resets and repeat over and over even the automatic recovery does this. Sometimes it doesn't reset but then it just freezes and nothing happens. This is not the first time this has happened to me, the last time I just wiped my drive and reinstalled windows and it worked but low and behold I update my computer and its doing this again. I REALLY don't want to wipe my drive again so I'm hoping someone here can help me.

    Computer stuck at 99% with latest update

    I attempted to use MS update assistant to update Windows 10 after latest issue made public. Computer was stuck at 99% for seven hours. I read one of your fixes that suggested copying a file, putting it on home screen then restart computer open that file
    etc. I followed the directions, now computer stuck on restart. What do I do now?

    Hi Scott,

    This issue might occur due to some corrupted system files. For possible resolution, we suggest that you follow the Startup Repair steps below:

    • Turn off your computer.
    • Turn on your computer. As soon as you see the Windows logo with the spinning dots, press and hold down the power button until your computer turns off. Do this process
      twice.
    • Turn on your computer for the third time, and let it load.
    • It should give you the message: Preparing Automatic Repair.
    • On the next screen that would appear, click on Advanced Options.
    • Select Troubleshoot.
    • Go to Advanced Options.
    • Click on Startup Repair.
    • Wait for the repair to finish.
