I have been crashing and restarting randomly when i am in gameOverwatch 2 and Fortnite.This began on March 10th when I was playing overwatch 2, it randomly crashed out of nowhere. restarted, join back the game, thought it was one off issue. However, next game i crashed again out of nowhere. Did not pay much attention to it let it be On March 19th, I was playing Fortnite and it happened again, twice and another 2 times in the afternoon, but this time the crash was slightly different, my screen black screened but my computer was still on, i could still hear music from my application but my dis

Event 41 Kernel Power crash - bugcheck code 278

Hi,

I wonder if someone could help me resolve an issue that has been annoying me for some time now. My desktop computer (windows 10) is suddenly freezes and crash > restart. This behaviour started while gaming but weirdly happens when making music or using other software. After I read some articles about this crash (the Event Viewer shows this critical error as event 41 Kernel Power crash, bug check code 278) which indicate that the culprit might be the GPU - in my case GTX 1650, but I cannot resolve this at all. What I tried so far:

- updating nvidia drivers

- reinstall the nvidia drivers using DDU

- underclocking via afterburner (helped with gaming, but then a crash happens in other software which isn´t even GPU demanding.

- check overheating of GPU, not even close

- several other diagnostics and repairs via command prompt (don´t remember which)

Is there anyone who could help me to analyse this and propose some solutions? I am out of ideas...

My computer keeps crashing event ID 1001.

My computer keeps crashing after I open Fortnite. It's all running smooth for like 5 minutes then crashes. I checked event viewer and it gives the bugcheck code 0x00000101 (0x000000000000000c, 0x000000000000000, 0xffff9281837d9180, 0x0000000000000004). I googled event ID 1001 fixes and followed all steps to no avail. If these codes mean anything to you your help would be appreciated.

In-order to get more clarity on this issue and to assist you with appropriate troubleshooting steps, reply with answers to the below questions:

1. Are you aware of any changes made on your PC, prior to this issue?
   
2. Is this issue specific while playing a particular game?
   
3. Which edition of Windows are you currently using?
   

A Kernel Power Event 41 can occur in the following scenarios.

Scenario 1: The computer restarts, and there is a Stop error BugcheckCode in the event data.

Scenario 2: The computer is shut down by pressing and holding the power button.

Scenario 3: The system randomly restarts and no Stop error BugcheckCode is listed, or the computer is completely unresponsive (hard hang).

I suggest you refer the article on Kernel
Power Event ID 41 and follow the steps for the scenario that is causing this error on your PC.

Additionally, you can refer the article on Windows
Kernel event ID 41 error "The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first" in Windows
and check if that helps.
