    My computer output is compressing loud audio such as music.


    I'm a musician so I can hear it pretty clearly. I have to lower the output of my apps such as Spotify or Ableton DAW so the compression threshold isn't reached on the output. This problem came after windows 11 update. I think a user also had a similar issue in this thread Audio is being compressed or gated when playing music or videos. - Microsoft Community . I tried the clean boot and the problem persisted. This issue might be happening with external sound cards, since that user had MOTU sound card and mine is Synaptics HD Audio which came built in with the HP computer.

    I've tried every step that was suggested, still getting no audio output device installed.

    • Are you getting any error messages when installing audio output? If so, can you send us a screenshot?

    • May we know if you are experiencing any issues installing audio output? If so, what troubleshooting steps have you tried so far?

    Hi Nelson,

    We would like to know more about your concern regarding the audio output of your computer. Have you received any error messages? After checking the audio drivers on the
    Device Manager, have you updated the audio drivers on your computer?

    I would suggest you to check again the Device Manager and follow the steps below:

    • In the Control Panel, remove the given sound software
    • Remove also the sound driver of the computer in the Device Manager
    • Restart the computer
    • Open Device Manager and click Scan for hardware changes
    • If there are no audio device that can be detected by the computer, you can update the chipset driver from the manufacturer's website.
